Replace Your Missing Teeth & Your Smile

picture of partial dental appliance or partialsPartials, or partial dentures, are a comfortable way to fill in missing teeth that’s affordable, comfortable, and easy to use. They’ll also help you enjoy your favorite foods again and will restore the look and feel of your smile.

Unlike full dentures, which are used when all of your natural teeth need to be removed, partials are used when there’s at least one tooth standing. They’re most often used to replace a series of teeth that fell out, leaving a big gap in your smile.

At Bradley M. Silber, DDS & Associates, we understand that losing multiple natural teeth is devastating for your health as well as your confidence. That’s why we take special care to fit partials to your individual mouth. That way, you can get back to eating your favorite foods and smiling with your head held high!

Partials may take some getting used to. Like braces, they might feel uncomfortable when you first wear them, and it will take some practice to insert and remove them. At Bradley M. Silber, DDS & Associates, our dentists will walk you through how to insert, remove, and care for your partials before you leave your fitting. We also check your partials at every appointment to ensure they’re still fitting snugly and haven’t been damaged.

This is where you come in: your partials are yours to take care of. The American Dental Association recommends that you only use ADA-certified denture cleaners, hand soap, or mild dishwashing detergent. Don’t use toothpaste to clean your partials since this can be too abrasive on them. Also, avoid hard-bristled toothbrushes when you brush your teeth; these can scratch your partials and cause more major damage over time.

You can use your partial dentures long-term, or you can use them temporarily until you’re ready to invest in dental implants. At Bradley M. Silber, DDS & Associates, we highly recommend implants because they help preserve your oral health, including preventing gum recession and bone loss that often come with lost adult teeth.
